BATH GUIDED CYCLE TOURS

We're a locally owned and operated adventure activities business in Bath with our tours also available on our sister website bathcycletours.com, our local guides are 'British Cycling' qualified Trail Cycle Leaders and 'Outdoor First Aid' qualified ensuring that you have a safe, fun and amazing ride. Tours are suitable for all riding abilities. Perfect for single travellers, couples, families (children 13+) and groups. Private family tours are available for children under 13 years old.
BATH CITY CYCLE TOUR £30 - 2 Hours The perfect way to see Bath's iconic buildings and historic sites. Our 2 hour tour takes you through the City's oldest streets on a journey back in time to see grand Georgian architecture, Victorian public gardens, Medieval city walls, the legacy of Britain's Roman occupation before enjoying expansive views over the city from the Kennet and Avon canal. You'll also get the chance to see some of the amazing wildlife in the City including Kingfishers, Peregrine Falcons and Grey Herons. Our guides are experts in local military history and wildlife providing a unique perspective on Bath as a World Heritage City.
City Tour Includes:
  • Price – £30 per person including bike hire and safety helmet
  • Group Sizes – We have a maximum ratio of 1 guide to 8 clients
  • Level – Easy
  • Start and Finish Timings – Tours start at 2pm with each tour taking 2 hours. Please arrive at 1:45pm.
  • Distance and Climbing – 9.5 kilometres and 50m / 6 miles and 160 feet.
Bath City & Countryside Tour £30 - 3.5 Hours A fun and enjoyable way to take in the city's famous buildings, historic sites and pleasure gardens before joining the Kennet and Avon Canal cycle towpath for a ride through history along the Avon Valley. The valley is abundant with wildlife and historical sites including the 'Dundas Aqueduct'. Returning to Bath, you will cycle through a Victorian railway tunnel (Two Tunnels Path), the longest cycling tunnel in Britain. The interactive light and sound installation in the tunnels provide a real ‘wow’ factor before you emerge overlooking the city, followed by a pleasant roll downhill to the cycle path along the River Avon back into the city. 
City & Countryside Tour Includes:
  • Price – £30 per person including bike hire and safety helmet
  • Group Sizes – We have a maximum ratio of 1 guide to 8 clients
  • Level – Easy
  • Start & Finish Timings – Tours start at 10am with each tour taking between 3-3.5 hours. Please arrive at 9:45am.
  • Distance and Climbing – 18 kilometres and 160m / 11 miles and 520 feet.
Bath Evening Prosecco Tour £30 - 1.5 Hours Enjoy a chilled glass of prosecco and a stunning panoramic view over Bath with late afternoon sun bathing the City's limestone skyline in soft evening gold, red & orange hues. This relaxed 90 minute guided ride takes you along the pictures river and canal in the heart of Bath with some great viewpoints capturing the history of the City from the Celts and Romans through to Bath's role in World War II. Perfect way to end the day in Bath with friends and loved ones!
Evening City Tour Includes:
  • Price – £30 per person including glass of chilled prosecco, bike hire and safety helmet
  • Minimum Booking – Please note there is a minimum booking of 2 persons for this tour.
  • Group Sizes – We have a maximum ratio of 1 guide to 8 clients
  • Level – Easy
  • Start and Finish Timings – Starts at 5pm with each tour taking 90 minutes. Please arrive at 4:45pm.
  • Distance and Climbing – 6 kilometres and 50m / 4 miles and 160 feet.
Bath City & Countryside Full Day Tour £75 - 6 Hours Expect all of the fun of our half day tour with the addition of our favourite section of the Kennet and Avon Canal crossing both the Dundas and Avoncliffe aqueducts to the historic town of Bradford on Avon. With the towns history traced back to Roman origins it's rich with historical buildings and sites including the 14th Century Tythe Barn and Norman Footbridge. There are lots of fantastic options to stop for food including the Angelfish Restaurant and Cross Guns pub situated next to the canal and river.
City & Countryside Full Day Tour Includes:
  • Price - £75 per person including bike hire and safety helmet
  • Group Sizes - We have a maximum ratio of 1 guide to 8 clients
  • Minimum Booking - 2 persons or £150 booking fee.
  • Level – Easy
  • Start & Finish Timings – Starts at 10am, generally finish no later than 4pm. Please arrive at 9:45am.
  • Distance & Climbing – 31 kilometres and 199m / 20 miles and 670 feet. We can provide a shorter or longer route if requested.​
  • Expenses & Additional Costs  - In addition to your booking fee you will also have to pay for the guide’s expenses that are directly related to the guided experience. These will include but are not limited to: food and drinks.

Family Cycle Tours For accompanied children under 13 years old we provide private tours. Please use the email enquiry form below to request a booking or more information is also available on our 'Bath Family Cycle Tours Page'. We have a range of children's bikes, helmets and child seats (9-22kg bodyweight) and we are the only company in Bath operating with DBS checked, outdoor first aid certified, Educare 'Childcare in Sport' trained and British Cycling qualified guides.
Private, Group, School & Corporate Activities If you prefer a ‘bespoke’ cycle tour during your stay in Bath, we can plan and organise single or multi day guided tours as per your requirements. This can include organising one way trips with transport back to their accommodation, picnics, restaurant meals or arrangements for special occasions:

How to get to us

We are located opposite the Tesco Express store on Bathwick Hill under the canal bridge at Bath Narrow Boats. We can be reached from either side of the road as per the gates marked on the map, please follow signs to Bath Narrow Boats. From the Tesco Express shop walk down the steps, turn left at the bottom of the steps under the bridge (push the gate open if shut) or cross the road and access us from the black cast iron gate next to the black iron railings and you will find us waiting for you. If you're still struggling to find us, wave at us from the bridge opposite the Tesco Express!

Transport Links:
  • Walking - We are a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. 
  • Driving - There are 4 main car parks in Bath close to us, please take walking time into account as parking in Bath can be a challenge - Bath Leisure Centre (10 minute walk), Manvers Street Car Park (15 minute walk), Southgate Shopping Centre Car Park (20 minute walk) and Avon Street Car Park (25 minute walk). Please be aware that the area around Bath Narrow Boats is mostly residents parking only, we do not advise trying to park locally as this may result in you being late and missing your tour.
  • Park & Ride - There are 3 park & ride facilities in Bath - Lansdown Park & Ride, Newbridge Park & Ride and Odd Down Park & Ride.
  • Taxi - It costs approximately £5 for a taxi from Bath Spa train station
  • Public transport - The following buses stop at St Mary’s Church within a 2 minute walk from our location at Bath Narrow Boats - 94, 175, 287, U1, U1X and X86
